Cookie Policy
Last Updated: March 30, 202
This Cookie Policy (“Cookie Policy”) is provided by Avanquest Software SAS (“we”, “us” or “Avanquest Software’’), the operator of the Avanquest Websites and the websites of its registered brands, as we may make available from time to time (the “Websites”).
This Cookie Policy is designed to inform you about the use of cookies and other online technologies used as part of the Websites operation and constitutes an integral part of our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar web-technologies
Cookies, together with similar technologies, such as tags, web beacons and pixels, are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites properly function, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the operators of the Website’s activity. The table below explains the cookies we use and why we use them.
The type of Cookies we use and why
We use several types of cookies on the Websites, including those used by some of our service providers, to help us with operating and maintaining the Websites, so as to understand the type and level of user engagement with our Websites and the elements and services included within.
We refer to four (4) main categories of cookies:
Category | Purpose of usage | Lawful basis |
Essential / Strictly Necessary | We use necessary cookies to make our Website operational and functional.
| These cookies are required for the basic functioning of our Website. They enable core features such as session management, security (CSRF protection), and load balancing. These cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the service you have explicitly requested. |
Performance & Analytics | Cookies that help us understand how visitors interact with the Websites and related services, by providing information about the areas visited, the time spent on the Websites, and any issues encountered, such as error messages. Cookies in this category also help us comply with data protection legislation by saving confirmations, requests to opt-in or opt-out from certain services we may offer from time to time.
| We consider this category optional (however highly required for our ability to improve our Websites and related services). Therefore, we will use this category upon your consent. |
Functionality | Cookies that allow the Websites to provide enhanced functionality that eases our visitors and make their experience more personalized. Those would normally be set by third-party services and include services such as: “remember” the choices that visitors make (such as user name, preferred language, region or other settings defined by the user) and to provide a more personalized online experience. They can also enable visitors to watch videos, play games and engage with social tools, such as blogs, chatrooms and forums. | The use of this category of cookies will be made upon your consent. |
Marketing/ Advertising | This type of cookie may be set through our Website by advertising partners that help us advertise and promote our Services. They may be used by those companies to understand users’ interests and show them relevant advertisements on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. | The use of this category of cookies will be made upon your consent. |
Cookies used on the Website
3.1 Profiling Technologies
In addition to cookies, we and our advertising partners use the following tracking and profiling technologies on our Websites:
● Web Beacons and Pixels: Small invisible images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us and our partners to detect when a page has been viewed or an email has been opened, and to collect information such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. We use pixels from advertising partners including Google, Facebook, and Microsoft Bing.
● Session Replay: We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session replays – recordings of how users navigate and interact with our Websites (mouse movements, clicks, scrolls). These recordings do not capture passwords or payment information and are used solely to improve usability and identify technical issues. Session replay is only activated upon your consent to Performance & Analytics cookies.
● Behavioral Profiling for Advertising: Our advertising partners, including Google (DoubleClick, AdSense), Microsoft Bing, Facebook, and others, may combine data collected through cookies and pixels on our Websites with data collected on other websites and services to build interest-based profiles about you. These profiles are used to show you targeted advertisements on other websites. This profiling is based on your browsing behavior and is only activated upon your consent to Marketing / Advertising cookies.
● Heatmaps: We use heatmap technology (via Microsoft Clarity) to create visual representations of how users interact with pages on our Websites, including where users click and how far they scroll. This data is aggregated and anonymized and is only activated upon your consent to Performance & Analytics cookies.
You may opt out of behavioral profiling for advertising at any time by withdrawing your consent via the cookie settings icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, or by visiting the opt-out tools of our advertising partners directly.
Consent and choice
Necessary cookies are always used by default, to make the Websites work. We’d also like to set optional cookies to help us improve it and better understand how visitors actually make use of it. We will not set optional cookies unless you provide your explicit consent through our cookie consent banner or cookie preference center.
In accordance with CNIL guidelines (October 2020), non-essential cookies placed on your device have a maximum lifespan of 13 months. At the end of this period, your consent will be requested again before these cookies are renewed. Your cookie preferences are stored for up to 12 months. After this period, the consent banner will be displayed again.
When you first visit our Website, a cookie consent banner is displayed allowing you to accept, decline, or customize your cookie preferences. Only strictly necessary cookies are placed before you make your choice. You can modify your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings icon available on each page.
Pay attention, that your opt-out or unacceptance of certain cookies, may cause a different functionality in some areas of our offered functionalities and services.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via your browser’s settings. Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings:
Users can modify their consent at any time from the cookie settings icon called ‘Cookie Settings’ that can be found in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Where such transfers occur from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection law, including:
● EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Several of our third-party cookie providers, including Google and Microsoft, participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which has been recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred to the United States.
● Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Where a provider does not participate in the DPF or an equivalent framework, transfers are governed by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or, for transfers from the United Kingdom, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA).
Third-party providers whose cookies may involve international transfers include, but are not limited to: Google (Analytics, AdSense, DoubleClick, reCAPTCHA), Microsoft (Bing, Clarity), Facebook, Cloudflare, HubSpot, and Zendesk. Automated Decision-Making
We do not use cookies or the data collected through cookies on our Websites to make automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on individual users.
While cookies are used for purposes such as analytics, advertising targeting, and personalization of content (as described in Section 3), none of these activities involve automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR or equivalent provisions under applicable law. No decision that significantly affects your rights, interests, or access to services is made solely on the basis of automated processing of cookie data.
Certain automated systems operate as part of our fraud detection and bot management infrastructure (such as Cloudflare Bot Management). These systems may automatically block traffic identified as non-human. Any determination affecting a human user’s access is subject to human review upon request. Please contact [email protected] if you believe you have been incorrectly affected by such a system.
Data Retention Periods
The lifespan of a cookie (as listed in the tables in Section 3) refers to the duration for which that cookie file is stored on your device. This is distinct from the period for which we or our third-party partners may retain the personal data collected through those cookies. In accordance with GDPR Article 13 and equivalent provisions under applicable law, we specify those retention periods below.

For data processed by third-party providers (such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Cloudflare), retention periods are governed by those providers’ own privacy policies.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, a browser-level signal that communicates a user’s preference to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. Where technically feasible and required by applicable law (including the California Privacy Rights Act), if your browser transmits a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid opt-out request from the sale and sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.
Honoring a GPC signal does not affect the placement of strictly necessary cookies, which do not constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under applicable law. You can enable GPC through supported browsers or browser extensions. To learn more, visit globalprivacycontrol.org.
Sensitive Personal Information - California (CPRA)
Under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), certain categories of personal information are classified as “sensitive personal information” and are subject to additional rights and restrictions. The categories of personal information we collect through cookies include: identifiers (such as device IDs, IP addresses, and cookie IDs); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as browsing history and interaction with our Websites); and inferences drawn from that information to create a profile about your preferences and interests. If this assessment changes, we will update this section accordingly.
Profiling Disclosures - Québec Law 25
In accordance with section 8.1 of Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25), we are required to inform you when personal information is used to profile you.
Cookie data collected through Marketing / Advertising cookies and, to a lesser extent, Performance & Analytics cookies may be used to create profiles about your interests, browsing behavior, and preferences. This profiling is conducted by us and by our third-party advertising partners (including Google, Microsoft Bing, Facebook, and others) for the purpose of showing you targeted advertisements on our Websites and on other websites across the internet. Such profiling is only activated upon your express consent to Marketing / Advertising cookies.
You may withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings icon on the bottom left of the screen. You also have the right to request access to the profile established about you and to request its deletion by contacting [email protected].
Confidentiality Incident Notification - Québec Law 25
